The National Building Research Organization says landslide warnings issued to various areas are still in effect, despite a reduction in rainfall over the last few days.
The Organization urged the residents of areas prone to landslide risks to continue to be vigilant.
The Landslide warning issued last evening to 7 Districts has been further extended by 24 hours.
The warnings have been issued to the Ratnapura, Kegalle, Galle, Kalutara, Matara, Hamabanthota and Nuwara-eliya Districts.
Meanwhile, a number of families from the Karandana area in Eheliyagoda have been evacuated due to a landslide risk in the Kirillawa mountainous region.
