President Maithripala Sirisena is seeking popular support for a comprehensive program against bribery, corruption, frauds malpractices and waste with the intention to build a clean country.
The Government Information Department reported that the Presidential Secretariat has launched a national program to achieve this goal and sought the input of the public for a broader dialogue.
Coordinating secretary to the President Rajitha Kodituwakku addressing a news conference held in Colombo yesterday said that a broad social dialogue on combating evil practices is required to take the country forward for a prosperous era.
He added that there is a need to empower the administrative and legal system.
Meanwhile, coordinating secretary Anura Amaratunga said that the Presidential Secretariat invites views and proposals and active participation of the Maha Sangha and other clergies, scholars, professionals who love the country on this subject.
