Presient requests PM to consider people's expectations when drawing decicions

President Maithripala Sirisena has requested Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to consider the people’s expectations when taking future decision.

The President had made the appeal during a two-hour meeting held between the two last evening.

He had further reiterated that if the prime Minister fails to consider his request, then he will be forced to take a decision on his own in this regard.

Ministers Malick Samarawickrama, Kabeer Hashim, Mahinda Amaraweera and Thilanga Sumathipala are said have been present during the meeting.

Prior to this meeting, the President and the Prime Minister had also held discussions with their relevant party officials.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickrmesinghe met his party members at the Temple Trees, while a discussion had taken place on the local government election results and the party’s future course of action.

Speaking to News 24, on the meeting, Deputy minister Dr. Harsha De Silva said that he had requested the prime Minister to make changes within the leadership of the United National Party.
