Oscar-winning actor F. Murray Abraham has been cast to voice the villain in DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon 3. Universal will be releasing the final film in the trilogy, directed and written by Dean DeBlois and produced by Bonnie Arnold and Brad Lewis, in 2019. It will also feature the voices of Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Kit Harrington, and Cate Blanchett. The film series follows the adventures of young Viking Hiccup and the rare Night Fury dragon Toothless he finds and learns to train on the Viking island of Berk. The films are loosely based on the British book series by Cressida Cowell and there is currently a TV series, DreamWorks Dragons: Race to the Edge, based on the films.
The final entry in young Hiccup and the Night Fury dragon Toothless’ story will follow the events in How to Train Your Dragon 2, which ended with Hiccup and Toothless having become the chief of Berk and Alpha dragon, respectively, after defeating the Bewilderbeast and Drago. So far, we know that the books and the films will have similar endings – with an explanation to why dragons are no more – despite the books diverging from the films.
